happy for you to hold me

2021, The Waiting Room
Mixed media & textiles

‘happy for you to hold me’ will transform the waiting room into a soft playground for the month of May. The work is an invitation for interaction as visitors indulge in the comfort of objects as we did in childhood, rejecting the shame that accumulates as we grow further away from childlike ways of seeing. The ‘pillobs’ engage with conversations of nostalgia, femininity, and intimacy, welcoming embrace and comfort in the soft form. We encourage the impulse to touch and to play, explore the object and seek a sense of ease in its presence.
They are an invitation for the senses, and we are happy for you to hold them.
